5 Digital Marketing Values I Believe Wholeheartedly
In the eight years since I started my Digital Marketing career, I’ve read approximately 267,928 marketing tips and tricks from a wide variety of experts. Recently, I started thinking about what my core marketing beliefs are. They’re probably not flashy or trendy, but these are the five values at the core of everything I do:
Your brand values are as important as your logo.
Brand values are the core beliefs that guide a company's culture, decisions, and actions. Have a strong sense of what your brand’s values are are affects every aspect of business, from brand messaging to managing your team. Importantly, brand values also affects your brand’s reputation in the world. You want your logo to be recognizable, but if you don’t have strong values behind it, that logo could be sending the wrong message.
Everyone has a story to tell.
If you’ve followed me longer than 27 seconds, you know my motto: Let’s Tell Your Story. That’s because I see this as the core of my job: learning a brand’s story and figuring out how to tell that story across a multitude of platforms: social media, email, website, blogs, physical media, etc. Sometimes I hear from creators or business owners who don’t think they need to tell a story in order to increase their reputation. It’s a fundamental belief of mine that everyone has a story to tell.
Everyone has a community to build.
There’s been lots of ink spilled on how isolating modern society can be. Building community—a sense of social connection, shared values or experiences, and a feeling of belonging—is the best and probably only way to counteract this isolation. Social media may. not be a replacement for in-person community, but it can be life-affirming and lifesaving. At its best, marketing creates small moments of genuine connection that our community can carry with them as they move throughout the world. That is what we aim to do at KT World Communications.
Digital Media is still the best way to tell stories and build community.
There’s no doubt that the digital world is more crowded than it was when I started this company. Some people suggest that digital marketing is no longer necessary. I respectfully but forcefully disagree. The numbers back this up. 93% of internet users are on social media, and digital ads can increase brand awareness by up to 80%. 87% of businesses use email marketing to distribute their content, and 90% of Instagram users follow at least one business (Source). If you’re not using digital tools to tell your story, you’re not in the conversation!
You have enough to do. We can help.
As a small business owner, artist, nonprofit, or entrepreneur, you’re juggling a million tasks daily.
